Behavioral Health Therapist – Pamela’s Place

Sacred Circle Healthcare is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Therapist for our Pamela’s Place clinic. Pamela’s Place is a permanent supportive housing complex in Salt Lake City, Utah

Job Summary

Overview: Improves the mental health of individuals, couples, and families by providing services relating to an individual’s mental health or illness.

Reports to: Behavioral Health Manager – Pamela’s Place

Department: Pamela’s Place

Business Unit: Operations

Patient Care: Yes

Worker Status: Full-time, Salary

Salary Range: $61,000 to $65,000 depending on education and experience.

Benefits Eligible: Yes

Hours Per Week: 40+

Work Schedule: To Be Determined with the availability of 8:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may rarely be required depending on position requirements.

Location: Pamela’s Place, Salt Lake City, Utah

Supervisory responsibilities: None

Closing Date: Open until filled.

The successful candidate:

  • Conducts intake assessments
  • Provides mental health counseling to children, adults, couples, and groups.
  • Coordinates care of patients with primary care providers regarding psychotropic medication needs.
  • Provides behavioral health interventions related to a variety of needs such as smoking cessation, medication compliance, weight control, etc.
  • Creates case conceptualization based on appropriate diagnosis and best treatment standards.
  • Completes treatment plans and updates them every 6 months or as needed.
  • Completes notes and reports in a timely manner (within 72 hours of visit for notes).
  • Prepares and presents outreach presentations as requested.
  • Participates in the development of mental health programs to further the health of the community we serve as assigned.
  • Participates in community outreach projects conducted by the clinic when assigned or available.
  • Participates in weekly team meeting and other staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Responsible to maintain licensure.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

For PhD applicants: administers, interprets, and writes up brief ADHD and Neurocognitive assessments.

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

EDUCATION: Masters or PhD in a mental health field

EXPERIENCE: 2+ years clinical experience preferred.

Current Utah license in good standing.
Ability to maintain proper documentation.
Ability to work full-time.
Proficiency in electronic record keeping and utility of electronic resources.
CPR certified.

  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance.
  • Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, ethnicity, and cultures and their history and origins.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Skill in interpersonal and group communication.
  • Skill in interviewing and assessment.
  • Ability to translate assessment information into a treatment plan.
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse patient population and community.
  • Ability in managing stress and crisis situations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and in-house clinical guidelines.
  • Ability to adhere to timely record documentation schedule.
