Position Summary Save The Bay seeks a passionate and motivated Corporate and Community Partnerships Manager to lead our growing corporate philanthropy program at an exciting time of expansion for the organization. This position builds support for our shoreline habitat and volunteer participation programs by engaging Bay Area businesses and community partners to protect and restore San Francisco Bay for people and wildlife. The Manager will achieve ambitious goals to boost corporate financial support and engagement with the Bay, and increase visibility and interest in Save The Bay’s mission and programs. Working with Save The Bay’s Development and Communications team, they will develop relationships, build strategic partnerships, identify and cultivate prospects, and secure corporate sponsorships for www.BayDay.org and other events. REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Institutional Philanthropy

SUPERVISES: N/A

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Corporate Philanthropy & Community Partnerships – 80%

·         Identify and pursue opportunities to grow corporate support to achieve income goals, through research, customized cultivation and direct solicitation of current and new accounts; coordinate corporate fundraising outreach by other staff and volunteer leaders

·         Develop and execute customized engagement plans for a portfolio of 30+ corporate and community partners, including employee volunteer activities, giving campaigns, and event sponsorships

·         Coordinate and schedule 30+ corporate volunteer events annually and manage community partnership requests and logistics, working with Save The Bay programs team

·         Lead sponsorship planning, outreach, logistics implementation, and sponsor benefits fulfillment for Bay Day, our largest annual corporate fundraising event

·         Coordinate development of key sponsor benefits and high-quality collateral materials; assist with event project management for Bay Day and other donor events, as needed

·         Represent Save The Bay at corporate events around the Bay Area; other duties as assigned.

 

 

Foundation Philanthropy & Support – 20%

·         Assist on stewardship, cultivation and communications with portfolio of 60+ corporate and foundation donors; support institutional philanthropy donor research, evaluate findings, and make recommendations to identify prospects and leads

·         Maintain and update robust Salesforce database, including donor accounts and activities, contacts, grant deadlines, and gift information; help create and generate reports

·         Prepare invoices, acknowledgement letters, reports and other documentation for institutional funders, coordinating with the Finance team

·         Assist with drafting and editing grant project budgets, donor stewardship communications, grant proposals, and other materials; other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

·         Enthusiasm for Save The Bay’s mission

·         4 years applicable experience in direct fundraising or sales account management

·         Excellent organization, project management, and time management skills to prioritize work, set and meet deadlines on multiple tasks

·         Ability to communicate in a professional and friendly manner with corporate and community constituents, donors/customers, and Save The Bay staff; comfortable making fundraising or sales pitches and presentations

·         Strong writing/editing skills, attention to detail in written communications

·         Technologically savvy, proficiency with project management and CRM applications, and with Microsoft Office or equivalent

·         Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members

·         Professional judgment, demeanor and entrepreneurial spirit

·         Able to work effectively across cultures, and engage enthusiastically in Save The Bay’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity and Accessibility work; committed to learning, communicating, and working respectfully with people who are different from themselves

·         Enthusiasm for Save The Bay’s mission, vision, values and programs

·         Background check

Preferred

·         Demonstrated ability to generate and implement creative donor outreach, digital campaigns, and event sponsorships

·         Experience conducting research on funders or clients

·         Strong familiarity with Salesforce and Asana

·         Volunteer and/or events management experience

 

 

 

Position Logistics

Location: Our work is performed mostly remotely (apart from our Habitat Restoration Staff) with periodic in-person staff and team meetings in our office based in Oakland, CA, and our various restoration sites around the San Francisco Bay Area.

Start Date: The priority deadline for applications is September 16, 2022; Preferred start date is November 14, 2022.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time, non-exempt, 40 hours per week position. The hourly range for this position is $35.00 to $37.520 per hour, based on experience. We offer an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, acupuncture/chiropractic, and life insurance; 12 paid vacation days per year to start, 13-14 paid holidays and 12 days of sick leave per calendar year; 403(b) retirement plan; stipend for working remotely and funds for home office workstation equipment and furniture.

Hiring Timeline (This is our ideal timeline, but it may be subject to changes):

–        The deadline for applications is 9/16/2022

–        We would like to make an offer to a candidate by October and have the candidate start in Mid-November
