General Summary

The Senior Director of External Foundry Operations is a role within global supply chain. This position is responsible to lead a team of experienced industrial engineers and other semiconductor operational disciplines to understand and influence wafer fab delivery schedules, mask shop capacity, tool utilization, labor requirements, new product introduction/ industrialization, defectivity improvement, and capacity expansion requirements/ execution within the Qualcomm supply chain partners. Position will develop models to simulate throughput and capacity across different technology, process nodes, new products variants, as well as, monitor other typical operational key performance metrics. Position will communicate regularly with supply partners and internal sourcing, planning, capacity planning, engineering, and new product development teams to ensure factory plan is feasible, on track to schedule, and ensure develop matrix and monitoring foundry execution to meet requirement and in compliance with commercial agreements.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Applies advanced understanding of capacity modeling, time study, utilization, cycle time, and other key IE parameter study and validation to influence wafer fab and OSAT delivery schedules, tool utilization, labor requirements, new product introduction/ industrialization, defectivity improvement, and capacity expansion requirements/ execution within the Qualcomm supply chain partners.• Applies fundamental understanding of semiconductor manufacturing process, tools, and key bottle neck analysis and applies in-depth knowledge of Fab Monitoring Tools (e.g. Fab3000, FACTORY works, Fab Time, etc.) to ensure weekly/daily on time fab out tracking and monitoring of wafer/lot moves per day, per process, and per tool. • Assimilates large data sets, manages data complexity. Collects information and identifies fundamental patterns/trends in data. Gathers, integrates, and interprets information from several sources.• Ensures tool bottleneck, throughput, cycle time (DPML), lead time and factory outs tracking• Ensures in-line WIP tracking, equipment availability, Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and compare to committed product output.• Serves as a technical expert within area of focus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

+ Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.

+ Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.

+ Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.

Work Experiences:

7+ years experience in technology manufacturing or related industry. ,3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above) ,4+ years experience working in a large matrixed organization. ,3+ years working with operating budgets, resources, and/or project financials. ,4+ years in a leadership role with or without direct reports (only applies to positions with direct reports).

Certifications:

Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) – APICS
