**Job Overview**

Support Engineer position in the modem software integration and test team, responsible for setup and maintenance of mobile phone test automation hardware and software, daily test execution in the lab for verifying modem software, troubleshooting and problem resolution.

**Responsibilities include:**

+ Setting up mobile device test stations including RF cabling, hardware – such as test phones and debug boards, and software installation.

+ Periodically upgrading test automation software and test cases, and validating the setups to ensure that no regressions were introduced during upgrades

+ Troubleshooting and debugging automation issues with quick turn-around to keep automation running 24×7

+ Monitoring and reporting of test results on a daily basis

+ Supporting urgent test requests per project schedules and deadlines, providing feedback on progress and completion times

+ Manually rerunning failed test cases with predetermined parameters to measure repeatability of failures

+ Extracting and analyzing various log files, observing failure patterns, and quickly isolating test setup/configuration issues from mobile software issues

+ Using various debug tools to troubleshoot software/hardware issues

+ Documenting test failures and issues using bug tracking tools

+ Operating lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc. and commercial wireless communication test systems (Rohde & Schwarz, Agilent, etc.)

+ Supporting Senior Engineers with basic software integration activities such as triggering new builds with predetermined software changes/bug fixes, monitoring build progress and providing status

**Minimum Qualifications** **6 months to 4 years of academic or industry experience in an embedded software/hardware test execution environment**

**6 months to 4 years of academic or industry experience in using software testing and debugging tools, and bug tracking tools**

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Experience in support and maintenance of continuous software integration tools (Jenkins, etc.)

+ Exposure to programming in C, Python, Perl, etc.

+ Familiarity with cellular radio access technologies such as GSM, WCDMA, LTE, etc.

+ Experience in lab testing in the wireless industry operating lab test equipment and commercial wireless communication test systems

+ Excellent communication skills in English, both in written and oral, and ability to follow instructions and procedures with good judgement

+ Proficiency with Windows, MS Office (Excel, Word, & Outlook)

+ High level of team work, motivation and decision making skills to accomplish given tasks within deadlines and with good quality

+ Work experience can be waived/reduced depending on skillset, industry certifications or other related industry work experience

+ Willingness to work a compressed work week or in different shifts.

+ Overtime may be required.
