Your Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years of relevant employment experience OR advanced degree in planning,
engineering, environmental architecture, design, environmental studies, or a closely related discipline is supplemental for
one year of experience.
• Architectural, HVAC, lighting, or plumbing design experience.
• Experience working with contractors and managing program deliverables on time sensitive timelines.
Your Responsibilities
• Responsible for assisting the Climate Resiliency Program Manager in completing program duties as assigned, including
research, program planning, implementation, program monitoring, and analysis.
• Assist management with the planning and coordination of internal meetings and events to support employee
engagement and the development of staff expertise on climate change issues including individual one-on-one
meetings to large community gatherings.
• Conduct research and analysis of climate mitigation and adaptation policies and actions to inform program
implementation efforts.
• Conduct greenhouse gas emissions assessments for measuring municipal and community emissions. Projects
include, but are not limited, waste and energy audits.
• Prepare written, statistical, and financial reports of program activities and expenditures.
• Assist in research efforts to attain available funding sources; prepare and submit grants; and create and maintain all
necessary grant background data.
• Develop, build, and maintain formal partnerships with Tribal Nations, and National, State, and Local government,
academic institutions, and other external partners, while promoting Tribal sovereignty and co-management of
resources, climate adaptation, and resiliency goals, including participating in government-to-government
consultations.

• Assist internal stakeholders in the transition to more sustainable practices. Projects included, but are not limited to,
composting, energy efficiency, water and waste conservation, and reusable service ware.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments to evaluate the ecological impacts of construction activities, including life
cycle analysis (LCA) of products and services.
• Analysis of sustainable and energy-efficient building design and operation. Execution of LEED or other green rating
system certifications.
Qualifications You’ll Bring
• LEED AP certification and/or WELL accreditations, progress toward licensure (NCIDQ) are pluses.
• Strong analytical skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present and translate scientific data
and technical information to a wide range of audiences.
• Proficiency with energy modeling software such as eQuest/DOE-2.2 or OpenStudio/EnergyPlus, and MS Excel
What to Expect
• Knowledge of climate change trends, impacts and solutions, including strategies for climate change mitigation,
adaptation, and preparedness.
• Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative information and prepare and present results orally and in writing.
• Ability to independently prioritize assignments, manage multiple simultaneous projects, ask for assistance when needed,
and provide regular progress updates on project deliverables.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially the ability to write succinctly and clearly for professional and
public audiences. Ability to create and deliver effective and polished public presentations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle challenging situations with tact and sensitivity. Passion for and
fundamental understanding of sustainable design.
• Familiarity with green building standards.
