Summary

The Wellness Center Director is responsible for leadership in the development of culturally-responsive behavioral healthcare services for Suquamish Tribal members and community members. The Director will ensure that consistent, ethical and compassionate delivery of treatment and other direct services is provided to youth and adult patients of the Wellness Center. The Director confirms that applicable services will be provided per guidelines delineated in the Policy and Procedures manuals which adhere to Washington Administrative Code and Department of Health mandates. The Director will direct programs to carry out the Vision Statement of the Suquamish Tribe. The Director will supervise the Program Coordinator and the supervisors of the Chemical Dependence and Mental Health teams, also ensuring that the administrative staff members provide the support needed by the clinical staff. Random sampling of clinical chart notes will be performed in order to assess thorough documentation as required by Best Practices and other professional guidelines. Community partnerships will be developed or maintained to address the goal of preventing substance use disorders and trauma in the community. Integrative medicine and traditional healing practices will be encouraged through collaboration with outside clinicians or practitioners to ensure that Tribal members have access to holistic approaches. Government-to-government relationships with DSHS, HCA, RSN and similar entities will be maintained by the Director as appropriate. Grant funding will be pursued by the Director to support existing programs or to expand services.

 

Your Education / Experience

·         Minimum of a master’s degree in a behavioral health field

·          Minimum of 5 years of experience in the areas of MH and CD prevention and treatment

·         Must have valid Washington State driver’s license

Your Responsibilities

·         Lead the development of staff responsibilities and program planning for the Wellness Center. Core missions will include policy development, oversight, outreach and communication with outside agencies as needed in order to ensure the delivery of excellent behavioral health care.

·         Manage all staff and budgeting pertinent to the Wellness Center Pursue grant funding and manage grant reporting to funding sources. Lead the weekly clinical staff meeting for purposes of clinical supervision and referral. Review decisions made by the Chemical Dependence and Mental Health teams by meeting regularly with those supervisors.

·         Consult with individual Wellness counselors as needed.

·          Assure that services include culturally-relevant treatment methods including cultural interventions as deemed appropriate by the Suquamish Tribal community. Assist members in accessing outside services if required services cannot be obtained at the Wellness Center.

·         Collaborate with Health Division staff on insurance eligibility as it impacts inpatient treatment services.

·         Supervision duties will include employee evaluations, contract renewal for clinical services of non- employees, staff scheduling, motivating and redirecting staff as needed. Random progress note and chart reviews will be conducted.

·         Provide referrals and consultation to persons in need of identified services as appropriate.

·         Represent to a patient or community member the outcome of a grievance investigation to the patient or others.

·          Ensure that services are provided in compliance with the Suquamish Tribal Code, WA State laws and state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality.

·         Develop Wellness Center programs to address the unmet needs of the community.

·         Act as the agency liaison to other programs within the Human Services Department and other Departments within the Suquamish Tribe.

·         Maintain open communication with other Tribal and non-Tribal agencies in the best interests of the patients and maintain open and cooperative relationships with co-workers.

·         Supervise outreach to patients in need of crisis intervention, mental health services, treatment and/or detoxification.

·         Organize community events or forums as appropriate.

·         Participate on Tribal projects and initiatives that provide prevention and/or potential for early intervention.
