Overview

The Suquamish Tribe is recruiting for an Accounting Technician for the Finance Department.  The Accounting Technician will perform financial record keeping specific to the Suquamish Tribe’s accounting system.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

·        Perform routine banking functions including, processing of wire transfers, verifying payments and deposits, processing daily bank files, transfers, and merchant services

·        Assist other Accounting Technicians with Tribal credit card processing, cash/credit receipt reconciliation, petty cash processing

·        Assist entire Finance department with transition to paperless processing including ongoing maintenance of electronic file storage

Qualifications:

·        Fund accounting experience preferred.  Demonstrate ability to accomplish financial analysis

·        Competent in use of personal computer and application software including but not limited to; MIP Fund Accounting, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint

·        Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

Education and/or Experience:

·        Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Accounting preferred

·        Accounting experience required, Tribal Government accounting experience preferred

State/Federal/Tribal Background check required

Valid WA State Driver’s License required

Pre-Employment drug testing required

Native American preference
