The Suquamish Tribe is recruiting for an Elder’s Coordinator in the Human Services Department.  The incumbent will perform a wide range of tasks relating to the coordination of all activities and programs designed specifically for tribal elders.  Maintain a positive relationship with all tribal elders and serve as their formal representative regarding elder programs or activities.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Work closely with the Elder’s Council to design, implement, monitor and evaluate all elder programs and services designed specifically for the well-being and enrichment of tribal elders.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Ability to respond calmly to crisis and chaos. Resourceful, with strong problem solving skills. Experience and knowledge in providing crisis intervention.

Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality.

Possession of personal and professional self-care skills.


High school diploma or equivalent.

Must have a demonstrated ability to work with and assist Suquamish Tribal Elder’s.

Must understand and demonstrate practices sensitive to elder issues.

Must have some knowledge of Indian country.


State/Federal/Tribal Background check required

Valid WA State Driver’s License required

Pre-Employment drug testing required

Native American preference
