Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The grant manager will manage the implementation of a $3.5 million dollar Federally-funded State grant program that includes a property acquisition; upgrading of properties to meet federal requirements; environmental review of purchase and associated stewardship projects; and EcoCultural Stewardship workforce development training. Working collaboratively with key staff in various departments, the grant manager will assume grant management responsibility for the various aspects of the grant.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grant Management
Serve as the liaison between TERA, the grant lead (Workforce Alliance of the North Bay), and the awarding agency;
Develop and manage a grant budget, workplan, and deliverable tracking system to guide relevant staff to achieve grant deliverables on a strict timeline;
Work with the finance and administrative team to process invoices and reports;
Develop and submit financial and narrative grant reports as per funder’s requirements; and
Ensure compliance with all required federal and state requirements, identify and develop any policies needed to maintain compliance and work with TERA leadership team to develop policies.

2. Team Development

Work with staff to develop requests for proposals and subcontracts; manage and coordinate subcontractors deliverables, timelines, and budgets
Work with E.D. and HR to develop job descriptions support hiring of new positions to deliver grant program; ensure their integration into a team
Work closely with the E.D. and relator to ensure a smooth property acquisition process
Create a positive, cohesive project team environment where everyone is treated respectfully and fairly.
Other tasks as assigned, pending Supervisor’s approval

3. Project Management

Manage planning and implementation of the scope of work;
Collaborate with TERA Program team to ensure quality implementation of workforce development programming;
Collaborate with partners and other external stakeholders, including environmental permitting and property acquisition consultants;
Work with the County to ensure proper zoning, ADA compliance, and other compliance measures;
Participate in outreach and presentations as needed;
Complete other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Non-profit management, or related field
2 + years experience in Federal and State grant management
2 + years experience working at a non-profit organization
4 + years experience supervising both contractors and employees
Proven track record in successfully managing large grants
Well-organized and able to track multiple details in a quick-paced environment
Enjoys developing systems for tracking on details
Proficiency and flexibility with office technology, specifically Google Drive, Mac and/or PC operating systems, smartphones, conference calls (Zoom), Word, and Excel
Strong communication skills with the ability to listen well, and write and speak effectively
Positive attitude, able to work independently, self-starter
Able to contribute to a high-functioning, collaborative team environment
Vehicle and valid driver’s license
Strong work ethic, dependable, shows up on time, committed to work.
Positive attitude and good team player.
Flexibility, adaptability and capacity to work in a fluid work environment.
Willing to follow and enforce all TERA policies, maintain professionalism, and appropriately represent the organization.
Commitment to representing the Tribal community and work of TERA
Be able to effectively communicate ideas and concerns as they arise directly to supervisors, colleagues, and organization staff.
Willingness to learn about contemporary challenges, concerns, and interests of Lake County Tribal community and ecology

Preferred Qualifications:

2 + years Experience working with environmental review processes (NEPA / CEQA)
Experience working with Tribal communities
Experience with federally funded property acquisition
Native American Preference Applies: Preference given to qualified Native Americans pursuant to the Indian Self Determination and Education Act, public Law 93-638.
