Job Announcement – Program Operations Specialist, Rental Assistance

Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Program Operations Specialist position is to provide excellent technical assistance for program staff and external community-based organizations in relation to the Rental Assistance Program. This support includes being an expert in the application process, case management system(s), creating ongoing training for program staff, and supporting improvements in streamlining program operations.
This is a time-limited position from 7/1/2023 – 12/31/2023 due to grant funding. Extension of position will be determined by funding and program needs.
The compensation for this position is $26.36 per hour. This position is open until filled.

Essential Duties
- Cultivates positive relationships with key United Way of King County stakeholders who are serving clients and seeking information about the Rental Assistance Program.
- Provides excellent technical assistance to external United Way community-based organizations, the public and internal program staff.
- Leads technical assistance support channel and keeps external SharePoint site current in order to best equip external partner agency staff.
- Researches and provides resolution in multiple Rental Assistance data systems.
- Works with Rental Assistance Partnerships Team to coordinate community surveys and program feedback.
- Supports enhancements and streamlining of program operations.
- Assists in communication regarding rental assistance applications, program eligibility, and may assist with communications regarding vendor and/or agency allocation payments.
- Works alongside program staff and with other departments to understand areas of improvement to UWKC constituents.
- Makes suggestions for improvements and works with other teams to implement changes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated understanding of social and racial justice and equity, with a proven commitment to apply racial and economic justice lenses in both personal and workplace contexts.
- Lived experience and/or demonstrated professional skills working within a diverse work environment.
- Proven strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven effective time-management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated detailed orientation and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment and across departments.
- Proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse customers.
- Demonstrated knowledge of customer service principles and techniques.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; database knowledge desirable.
- Familiarity with processing financial gifts.
- Demonstrated ability to perform intermediate business math and accurate data entry.
Education and/or Experience:
Associates’ degree, or equivalent, in business administration, communications, non profit or a related field. Experience in customer service, program coordinator, communications, or equivalent education and/or experience. Broad understanding of United Way programs and functions helpful.
