Qualcomm is seeking a Product Manager for the XR Business Unit. The successful candidate will work with OEMs, strategic partners, internal business and engineering teams to define and drive chipsets targeting the XR vertical through the complete product lifecycle including product concept, definition, planning, and execution. We are looking for a candidate with a background in XR and chipset planning. The candidate must have strong technical and analytical skills, be able to build strong relationships with multiple geographically dispersed teams, and drive planning & execution through a matrixed organization.
The individual in this role will:
+ Work with OEMs/ODMs, technology product managers, and XR R&D and SW teams to understand product requirements, define key use cases / KPIs, and drive chipset definition
+ Translate market requirements into detailed product requirements that are driven back in the product definition process
+ Develop external messaging to communicate chipset positioning and value proposition to customers & partners
+ Communicate chipset definition & value proposition to potential customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
+ Oversees the development of multiple, complex products and ensures cross-functional communication of product development goals.
+ Oversees successful cross-functional collaboration by ensuring the completion of milestones by engineering team and other internal partners (i.e., program management) ensuring the completed work aligns with roadmap for a product line(s).
+ Assess competitive landscape, develop competitive analysis materials and stay up to date on technological advancement and feeding back into the roadmap to build a differentiated product offering.
+ Interface with supply & planning teams to ensure customer schedules & HW requirements are met
+ Interface with engineering, finance, program management, and product management to drive new chipsets through QC’s planning process to secure Exec commitment for the program
+ Collaborate with key stake holders across engineering, program management, technology product management to ensure the program meets all specifications and KPIs
+ Collaborate with reference design & SW teams to deliver a compelling e2e reference platform showcasing the chipset’s capabilities/value proposition
+ Translate customer feedback and market dynamics into potential changes to ensure a differentiated product roadmap and communicate this to senior leaders.
+ Work with technology product management and engineering leads to drive XR requirements into the technology roadmaps
+ Work with customers and internal engineering teams on customer RFIs, RFQs, and system-level use case modelling & analysis
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.
• 4+ years Product Management or related work experience.
• 10+ years Product Management or related work experience. • 2+ years working with operating budgets and/or project financials.• 3+ years working in a large matrixed organization.
• Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.
• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.
• Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).
• Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.
• Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
