Position Summary

The Senior Superintendent serves as the lead onsite supervisor for large-scale vertical construction projects, overseeing project execution, client relationships, scheduling, budgets, subcontractors, permitting, inspections, estimating, and overall project profitability. This role works closely with the Senior Project Manager or Project Lead to ensure all work meets contractual, quality, schedule, and performance requirements. The position requires broad knowledge of commercial construction, including civil work, foundations, structural framing, roofing, building envelope and waterproofing, MEP systems, fire protection, interior finishes, low voltage, and security systems. The Senior Superintendent is also responsible for onsite safety leadership, maintaining a clean and safe jobsite, communicating safety expectations, and monitoring subcontractor compliance. OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications are required.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Project Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and manage project schedules using Excel, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar tools, ensuring project milestones and deadlines are met.
Estimating & Proposals: Support bid coordination, drawing and scope review, cost estimating, project budgeting, and proposal development.
Subcontractor Management: Coordinate subcontractor meetings, review scopes and contracts, answer scope questions, manage change orders and invoices, and support subcontractor scheduling and performance.
Project Management Support: Assist the Project Manager with consultants, vendors, specialty contractors, budgets, and internal departments throughout project development and execution.
Construction Administration: Review submittals, track RFIs, interpret drawings and specifications, communicate with field staff, and help resolve project issues.
Quality & Safety: Perform quality control and assurance activities and enforce OSHA and applicable federal safety standards.
Logistics & Procurement: Coordinate deliveries, monitor procurement schedules, and ensure necessary equipment and materials are available onsite.
Closeout: Collect subcontractor product and warranty information and assist with the overall project closeout process.

 

Required Qualifications

(2) Associate’s degree from accredited educational program is preferred minimum, college or university or equivalent certifications in Project Management, PMP or Six Sigma certifications will be considered
(10 +) years minimum experience assisting in construction project management in new and vertical construction, multi family or hospitality renovations.
(1-5) Management of large scale projects in value ranges or higher of $5 million – $100 million

 

Core Competencies

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience performing problem-solving activities
Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
Experienced in Project Management Software such as Procore, Autodesk Build, Red Team Flex or similar
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills

 

 

Work Environment & Expectations

Frequently on your feet observing, guiding, directing or facilitating small installations on the project sites.
