General Description

The Organizing Associate will work closely with the Organizing Director to build online (digital) and offline (field) plans that incorporate organizing tactics such as text, phones email, etc. The position will work as part of a highly collaborative team including regional and state staff, campaign staff, digital organizers and other teams at TWS to support organizing efforts. This is an exciting opportunity for an organizer who loves the challenge of building a base of engaged advocates who will become the backbone of our advocacy efforts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·         Support the Organizing & Strategic Partnerships team’s efforts to build a base of engaged advocates through engagement and outreach tacticsincluding but not limited to text banks and phone banks (virtual and potentially in-person)

·         Track monthly, quarterly, and annual activist engagement goals

·         Maintain target universes, scripts, text lists and call lists in EveryAction/NGPVAN

·         Work collaboratively across departments and teams – digital, strategic communications, government relations, conservation and others – to support a shared advocacy strategy that makes strategic asks of activists to achieve the organization’s top priorities

·         Work with a team of digital organizers

·         Support TWS staff across the organization with training, supporting, and managing staff in a civic engagement capacity

·         Assist in the development of trainings and materials to be used in organizing

·         Draft content for online and offline mediums

·         Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience, Competencies, and Education

·         At least 1 to 3 years of experience in organizing, and executing movement building campaigns and/or programs

·         Experience using member databases such as EveryAction, Votebuilder (VAN) or similar management systems

·         Experience with digital organizing program (Examples Hustle, ThuText,) and utilize new digital organizing tools

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

·         Track record working successfully in teams representing a rich mix of talent, backgrounds, and perspectives

·         Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage a variety of campaigns/projects simultaneously.

·         Experience coordinating or managing volunteers or staff

·         Superb organizational skills and attention to detail.

·         Ability to travel within the U.S.

·         Ability to be flexible and adapt to shifting priorities and plans

·         Bilingual a plus
