Extension County Coordinator

for Churchill/Mineral/Pershing Counties with office based in Fallon, NV.

Full time position with University of Nevada, Reno as Administrative Faculty.

Job Description: The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is recruiting for an Extension County Coordinator with excellent management and interpersonal skills. This position is in Fallon, NV, and will work two days a week in Hawthorne and/or Lovelock. The position reports to the Extension Northern Area Director.

The primary role of the Extension County Coordinator is to work with community members and staff to identify beneficial community-based education and bring in statewide programs for impactful programming in agriculture, children, youth and families, horticulture, community development, natural resources, and health and nutrition in assigned counties. The incumbent will build positive, strong relations with the county commissions and community agencies. Through entrepreneurial leadership, program areas of need will be addressed through collaborations with experts statewide. One role of the position is managing the offices in assigned counties. The position will supervise some office staff to ensure programming addresses community needs. This position requires working effectively with diverse cultural and community interests and developing and maintaining solid working relationships.
