Your Education / Experience
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from a medical school in the United States or
Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical
Association or Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), Committee on Osteopathic College
Accreditation (COCA) of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or an accrediting body recognized by the
U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
AND
• Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty, if available for degree.
OR
• Degree from a professional Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) program approved by the
legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. For APN and
PA candidates, Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty is highly desirable.
• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
• Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
• Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficiency in Microsoft Office software, web-based
portals, and Electronic Medical Record systems.
Your Responsibilities
• Provide patient centered, culturally sensitive, high quality medical care within scope of practice.
• Collaborate with and oversee nursing and medical assistant staff in provision of patient care.
• Identify, evaluate, and address disease prevention and health promotion in the clinic population.
• Assess and develop treatment plans with patients.
• Order appropriate lab and diagnostic tests and interpret test results.
• Educate patients and/or families about preventive care, medical diagnoses, and treatment plans.
• Work in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of Community Health, Wellness Clinic,
medical and clinic staff, fostering consultation, collaboration, and/or referral.
• Document all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals and
consultations in Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Able to successfully complete the Suquamish Tribe Medical Staff credentialing and privileging process, abide by
the Medical Staff by-laws, and be available to serve on committees as needed.
• Engage in continuous knowledge development and professional currency.
• Participate in all clinic staff, medical staff, and other meetings as directed.
• Participate in medical staff peer review.

Qualifications You’ll Bring
• Physician: current, active, full, and unrestricted Physician (MD, DO, or ND) license from a State, the District of
Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
OR
• Advanced Practice Nurse (APN): current, active, full, and unrestricted APN license in a State, the District of
Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. American Nurses Credentialing
Center (ANCC) certification required.
OR
• Physician Assistant (PA): current, active, full, and unrestricted PA license in a State, the District of Columbia, the
Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current national prescriptive drug privileges with a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number.
