Veteran Resources – Western Region

Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD) makes it a top priority to provide employment and training services to veterans of all eras. It doesn’t matter you are homeless, suffer from substance abuse, or were separated from the military decades ago or just in the last few weeks. If you are a veteran struggling to find a job, or need job training, we are here to help. We regularly run workshops on resume writing and job search techniques, and we give financial aid to veterans to pay for job training, transportation, tools and even clothing for work. We have three locations to serve you – San Diego, Oceanside and South County.

Veterans Association of North County (VANC), located in Oceanside, California, is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization created by a group of dedicated veterans to empower other veterans, members of the military, and their families by providing needed support and resources. We are an umbrella association that represents more than 30 veteran organizations spanning all branches of military service (including reserve personnel) and encompassing all generations, from active duty through retirees. Our mission is to serve as a one-stop resource center for all veterans and military, centralizing the services of diverse agencies to assist them with jobs, education, finances, health and wellness, and family issues.

San Diego Veteran’s Employment Committee – provides resources, connects organizations, and advocates for veterans.

There are 18 field offices of the New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services (NMDVS) located throughout the state. Each is staffed by an accredited Veterans’ Service Officer (VSO) to assist veterans and their dependents with filing for their federal and state benefits. Most VSO’s also have regularly-scheduled outreach visits to smaller surrounding communities.
